Asa Larsson is a Swedish crime writer, who was born Uppsala, Sweden but grew up in Kiruna, which is further north in Sweden. Prior to becoming a full-time writer, Larsson was a tax lawyer, a profession she shares with the heroine of her novels, Rebecka Martinsson.
Her first novel, The Savage Altar, was awarded the Swedish Crime Writers’ Association prize for best debut and was shortlisted for the Duncan Lawrie International Dagger. Its sequel, The Blood Split, was chosen as Best Swedish Crime Novel Award in 2004. The Savage Altar was dramatised in the Swedish film Solstorm in 2007.
The Second Deadly Sin is Asa Larsson’s fifth book in the Rebecca Martinsson series. It was published in 2015, and has also won the Best Swedish Crime Novel Award.
